Customer Experience Ambassador (2 permanent part-time positions)

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Provide operational support and ensure a seamless flow of the day-to-day work activities under supervision and within the policies and procedures established by the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM), while providing informative, friendly and entertaining tours to visitors and promoting the RCM through the selling of its products.

This bilingual position must be staffed on an imperative basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Previous Experience:
College diploma and experience in a similar function.
Minimum two (2) years experience as a Tour Guide and/or in a retail environment.
Customer service and sales experience is an asset.
Must be willing to work on a continuous operation basis and/or shift work.

Knowledge:
Knowledge of the Royal Canadian Mint, its products and its markets.
Guided tour and introduction techniques while greeting visitors.
Use of computers and able to operate cash registers and cash handling.
Inventory replenishing and control.

Abilities and Skills:
Book and organize guided tours.
Lead guided tours in both official languages; confident with public speaking in groups up to 30 people.
Answer visitor inquiries and complaints professionally, find appropriate solutions and resolve these efficiently.
Excellent interpersonal skills and competent with selling and training techniques.
Assist handicapped people when required.
Possess strong communication skills with positive teamwork attitude.
Work well under pressure and comfortable with repetitive tasks.
Write clearly and concisely in both official languages.
Demonstrate initiative and sound judgment.
Able to determine priorities and remain organized.
