We are seeking a versatile and highly driven Operations professional to join our growing Toronto Management Consulting practice, with the ability to work on a variety of business challenges related to value creation – identification through to realization, including but not limited to revenue enhancement, cost optimization, operations improvement, and operating model transformation.
What you will do:
The Value Realization / Cost Optimization team within Management Consulting works with clients in several industries with an increasing focus on Industrial Markets (Manufacturing, Automotive, Engineering Services, and Transportation, etc.). We help our clients solve problems related to:
Performance / Profitability Improvement: Identify and implement solutions that radically improve client’s EBITDA and cash flow. We help clients with revenue and market growth initiatives; cost optimization; business model transitions, transformations, and modernization
Process design and improvement: Work with client teams to design or improve processes using technology solutions
Operating model design and configuration: Assess and reconfigure operating models that reduce complexity, improve agility and decision making in support of our client’s strategic objectives
Technology readiness: assess people and process readiness for large scale technology implementations
Cross functional transformational programs: Work across service line such as M&A, Risk, functional groups within Management Consulting, KPMG’s global SME network to identify and deliver solutions for our client’s complex and multi-faceted problems
What you bring to this role:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Sciences or Business Administration
Minimum 7 years of experience in a project environment in an industry role or 4 years of professional services experience at a top tier consulting firm
Demonstrated experience in industrial sector such as manufacturing, automotive, or transportation considered an asset
Experience in improving operations using technology enabled solutions (e.g., intelligent automation, emerging technologies, IoT, etc.) considered an asset
Experience in transformational projects at the intersection of business and technology that create significant value for the organization including, but not limited to, improvements to the bottom line
Comfortable driving the full cycle of a consulting like project (problem identification, data analysis, root cause analysis, opportunity identification and prioritization, solution development, storyboarding, team, and stakeholder management, etc.)
Experience in developing detailed business cases / cost benefit analysis for proposed solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including experience communicating with senior level stakeholders (e.g., business unit leaders, C-suite)
Experience managing multiple workstreams on a project or large complex workstreams with multiple team members
Candidates with a professional designation (CPA-CA/CMA, LSS Black Belt amongst others) and/or a Masters (including MBA) will be preferred
