POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Jr. Sous Chef you will focus on supporting the kitchen's daily operations, upholding standards, and guiding our kitchen team towards operational and creative excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT
Oversee daily kitchen operations.- Enforce culinary standards across every dish, ensuring consistency with our reputation for excellence.
TEAM MANAGEMENT
Lead and support the team of Chef de Parties, Prep Cooks and Dishwashers, ensuring effective role execution.- Facilitate the successful integration and productivity of new team members.
- Drive the development and performance management of team members.
- Promote a positive, inclusive work environment, recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance, and encouraging open communication and feedback.
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
Play an active role in culinary research and development, contributing innovative ideas for new dishes and menu evolution.- Collaborate with the culinary team to fine-tune recipes and techniques, pushing the envelope of culinary arts.
CULTURE & ENGAGEMENT
Foster an inclusive and supportive kitchen atmosphere, embracing diversity and encouraging collaboration.- Build a culture of open communication and collective success, where each team member’s contribution is valued.

3-5+ years prior experience working in a high caliber, fast paced kitchen and a solid understanding of the expectations and standards associated with these establishments, including attention to detail, presentation, and high-quality food production.

The ability to work under pressure, efficiently maintaining quality in a fast-paced and demanding environment, especially during peak hours.

A good understanding of the restaurant's menu, including the ingredients, flavour profiles, and cooking techniques often used and the skill to execute dishes and recipes accurately.

The confidence to adapt quickly, think on their feet, and handle unexpected situations such as changing menu items, last-minute requests, or special dietary restrictions.

Effective communication and teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with team members, and work harmoniously in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
