Description:
Tessier Design Corp. takes commercial and industrial renovation projects from concept to reality using our signature step-by-step process. Being a small firm based out of Newmarket, teamwork is essential to our success. With many projects underway in the GTA and Kingston area, we are looking for someone qualified and capable to work alongside our team of professionals and can bring in fresh new ideas to push our designs further and work with us to build a stronger design firm.
· Support the development and maintenance of the firm’s internal drawing standards, technical libraries, and production resources to improve consistency, efficiency, and knowledge sharing across the team.
· Archive completed and historical projects in an organized digital format, ensuring project records are properly filed, labelled, and accessible for future reference.
· Review archived project drawings to identify valuable construction details and transfer applicable details into the firm’s detail library for use on future projects.
· Assist with building and maintaining the firm’s AutoCAD library, including standard symbols, blocks, templates, and drawing resources.
· Review, refine, and update standard general notes used on architectural drawings to support consistency, clarity, and current practice.
· Refine and update window and door schedules, including standard formats, notes, terminology, and coordination requirements.
· Update and maintain the firm’s building code checklist to reflect current project requirements, Ontario Building Code references, and internal review standards.
· Assist with developing internal drawing procedures, production standards, and quality-control workflows for design and construction document preparation.
· Preparation of design drawings and construction documents for commercial and industrial projects.
· Experience with on-site activities including site construction meetings – some client-facing.
Completion of an Architecture, Building Technology or Architectural Technology Program from a professionally recognized institution.

Qualifications:
· Able to legally work in Canada
· 3-5 years Canadian construction experience required
· Contract administration experience an asset
· 3-5+ years’ experience in an established firm, with demonstrable AutoCAD/REVIT and technical skills and a portfolio
· Proficient with the Ontario Building Code Parts 3, 9 & 11
· Proficiency with NFPA and OFC, an asset
· Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
· Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
· Excellent organizational skills (paper and digital) and time management skills
· Positive attitude and commitment to professional growth (CEUs, trade shows, product development)
· Proficient in Microsoft Office.
· Experience with Microsoft Project and/or Bluebeam an asset
· BCIN an asset
