HEAVY TRAILER TECHNICIAN

  • Main Tasks / Responsibilities:
  • To be the key mobile technician responsible for maintaining a fleet of highway trailers
  • Perform regular routine maintenance procedures insuring a safe and reliable highway trailer
  • Perform annual PMVI (Periodic Mandatory Vehicle Inspections)
  • Perform all repairs related to the PMVI including wheel removal and brake service.
  • Report directly to the fleet manager as well as the Service Manger responsible for trailer maintenance.
  • Maintain a company supplied mobile service vehicle, managing company tools and equipment
  • Maintain a mobile vehicle parts inventory with constant replenishment

Key Qualifications:

  • 310J Certificate of Qualification or an equivalent Apprentice credential with 1 to 2 years experience in a Heavy Highway Trailer and, or Heavy Truck related service environment
  • If you have mechincial ability then we may be willing to train the right Candidate.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with a strong understanding of Trailer Structural, mechanical and electrical systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building capability
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills with strong attention to details
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and adapt in a fast paced environment
  • Professional self starter independent as well as a team player with a sense of importance and interest to learn new technologies and systems
