POSITION SUMMARY: Robotic Programmer Operators at MIC are primarily responsible for the programming and production of welded assemblies that meet customer requirements in quality and output in a safe fashion. To meet this requirement Robotic Welders must program and operate equipment and work with numerous types of associated consumables.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Program and maintain program accuracy, and efficiency in weld cells.
Robotically weld parts together according to drawings and specifications. All Robotic operators must use tape measures and/or verniers to assure the proper location of welds
Ensure all tasks are performed in the allotted time provided
Must work in accordance with HealthSafety regulations, Company rules, policies and procedures
Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by the company
Clean all areas on parts of debris before application of welds
Assemble parts according to provided drawings and specifications
Inspection of all welds to ensure conformance to specifications
Assure that 1st off/1st Part is inspected and meets Quality Assurance requirements
Removal of completed parts from work area and preparation for next production stage
Completion of data entry and/or paperwork as required
Basic maintenance of Welding and Set-up equipment in addition to ensuring gas and wire as required for the following shift
Maintain proper MIC housekeeping standards
Must notify lead hand and/or supervisors of all disfunctional and/or unsafe equipment or work practices
All other duties as assigned by Supervisors and Managers
COMPETENCIES (Job Knowledge/Skill, Education and related experience)
Experience in programming, setting-up and maintaining robotic weld cells
Experience in the use of Tape Measures, Vernier and other measuring tools
Robotic welding experience required
MIG welding experience required
Experience with Metal Fabrication an asset
Ability to read drawings, blueprints and specifications
Mathematical aptitude
Ability to work independently or with supervision
