LEAD TAILOR / FUTURE HEAD OF TAILORING

For more than 35 years, Outlooks for Men has been one of Western Canada's most respected menswear retailers. Our reputation has been built on exceptional service, premium menswear, expert fitting, and quality tailoring.
We are seeking an experienced Lead Tailor to join our established tailoring department and work alongside our retiring Master Tailor as part of a planned succession strategy.
This is not an entry-level alterations position.
This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced tailoring professional seeking long-term career growth, leadership responsibility, and the opportunity to help shape the future of an established tailoring department.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality menswear alterations
- Conduct customer fittings and garment assessments
- Pin garments and explain alterations to customers
- Work with suits, sport coats, trousers, shirts, and formalwear
- Collaborate closely with our sales team
- Assist with wedding-party fittings and alterations
- Maintain quality standards and production timelines
- Participate in knowledge transfer with our Master Tailor
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Significant tailoring or advanced menswear alteration experience
- Strong understanding of garment construction
- Experience fitting customers and recommending alterations
- Experience with jackets, trousers, sport coats, and formalwear
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Pride in craftsmanship and attention to detail
Experience with jacket sleeve alterations, collar adjustments, garment balance, and complex fitting challenges is highly desirable.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
