Where no Secondary Contract teacher is hired for a contract vacancy, the consideration moves to current OCDSB Continuing Education and Home Instruction teachers covered by the Teacher Bargaining Unit Collective Agreement, followed by qualified Secondary occasional teachers and other external candidates.
The successful candidate will be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers and possess the following:
Required OCT Divisional Qualifications:
Senior Construction Tech Qualifications
OCT Additional Qualifications considered an asset:
Working at Heights
Basics of Supervision(for on construction site supervision)
Ministry of Labour Health and Safety Training Certification
Additional Requirements (experience, knowledge, education) for the Position:
Jobsite management experience
Experience working on major construction sites
Reading blue prints
Working alongside industry partners
Custom home framing/building experience
Working with clients for project design and pricing

Qualified external candidates will be screened based on the requirements identified in this posting and shortlisted applicants will be assessed via an interview process.
As a condition of employment with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, the successful external candidate will be required to submit a "Vulnerable Sector Screening" (criminal record check) prior to the commencement of any employment duties.
