B6-200 Inpatient Paediatrics
Reporting to the Coordinator, B6-200 Inpatient Paediatrics, the Office Assistant prepares correspondence, reports, statements and other material, operate office equipment, answer telephones, verify, record and process forms and documents such as contracts and requisitions and perform general clerical duties according to established procedures.
The Office Assistant may greet people arriving at offices, or departments, direct visitors to appropriate person or service, answer and forward telephone calls, take messages, schedule appointments and perform other clerical duties.
Rate of Pay: $21.187 per hour - $22.923 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Successful Completion of Secondary School Diploma
Minimum 6 months recent related experience
Demonstrated proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), data entry/keyboarding
Successful Completion of a Medical Terminology Course and experience with laboratory terminology preferred
Cerner experience specifically Pathnet preferred
Demonstrated proficiency in communication skills, both verbal and written
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
Demonstrated excellent data entry skills with accuracy and attention to detail
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to organize and prioritize workload
Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality
Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step)
