Under the guidance and direction of the Coordinator, Client Services, is responsible for the overall Customer Service function including exceptional customer service, information sharing, registration, facility rental inquiries and bookings, receipt of monies, misc. administrative duties, together with duties regarding interaction with the public, Town staff and other Recreation, Facilities and Culture Department functions.
How you contribute to our organization:
- Screens and processes all inquiries regarding facilities, programs and services of the Recreation, Facilities and Culture Department and Town Hall enquiries, redirecting to appropriate department.
- Available to work at all Recreation, Facilities and Culture Department facilities including Tottenham Conservation Area (TCA), Rotary Pool, New Tecumseth Recreation Centre (NTRC), Beeton Memorial Arena (BMA), Tottenham Community and Fitness Centre (TCFC) and Alliston Memorial Arena (AMA).
- Responsible for the opening and closing of the customer service stations.
- Setup of cash floats, verifies and records cash totals at opening and closing shifts. Assists Coordinator to verify and balance large amounts of cash deposits for TCA, POOL, NTRC, TCFC, BMA.
- Register customers for programs and memberships, and process drop-in participants in software system. Process payment over the phone or in person; obtain detailed confidential personal information and take picture of customer for TCA, Pool and Recreation Facilities. Scan client documents/information into client accounts maintaining confidentiality at all times. Act as point of check in for patrons registered in programs.
- Responsible for completion of incident/accident reports, inventory and tracking forms.
- First line of contact for emergency responders (police officers, 911 calls, ambulances, fire etc.)
- Deals with difficult/ upset customers on a daily basis. Controls the situation while accessing the safety of the environment in high traffic facilities.
What you bring to the team:
- Requires successful completion of a high school diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
- Requires Emergency First Aid with CPR-C or the ability to obtain within a month of hire.
- Requires one-year previous experience in a customer service-related position. Experience in recreational customer service is preferred.
- Must have competent technical skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is required.
- Familiar with the use of XPlor Recreation, Membership and Booking software is preferred.
- Must have cash handling experience in a high-volume environment.
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends. Must be available to support events as required. (See below for specific shifts required).
Wage: $25.65 - $30.17, plus 4% vacation pay and optional enrolment in OMERS pension plan.
Hours: Up to 20 - 24 hours per week.
Shifts: Looking for primarily evening and weekend availability.
Must be able to work one of the following shifts:
- Thursdays: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Sundays: 4 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Or
- Mondays: 4 p.m. – 9 p.m.
- Saturdays: 4 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Locations: Shifts could include working at any of these locations: Tottenham Conservation Area (TCA), Aliston Rotary Pool, New Tecumseth Recreation Centre (NTRC), Beeton Memorial Arena (BMA), Tottenham Community and Fitness Centre (TCFC) and Alliston Memorial Arena (AMA).
