Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Assist with meal preparation, including chopping, assembling, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
- Handle food safely and follow proper food handling procedures at all times
- Support food service operations by serving dishes promptly and courteously to customers when required
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for staff and customers
Experience
- Prior experience in a restaurant or food service setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, meal preparation, and food safety practices
- Familiarity with food handling procedures to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Food Handler Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and kitchen procedures
- Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, and safe food handling
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Previous kitchen experience or work in the food industry is an asset, but enthusiasm and willingness to learn are most important
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision in a loud, high‑activity kitchen setting
