Description:
Do you make it your mission to design high-impact growth engines and turn raw channel potential into predictable revenue? Get a thrill from building and scaling net-new partner channels and seeing your work directly drive revenue? Interested in joining a team that is making a real difference to the success of small business owners? If so, we might have just the role for you.
FundThrough is looking for a strategic, results-driven, and entrepreneurial Director of Partnerships to report to the VP, Marketing, and join us on our mission to help business owners improve their cash flow by getting them paid ahead of long net terms. You’d own the full partnership lifecycle end-to-end, from sourcing, winning, and launching net-new partner channels, and driving revenue and funded volume from the partners we already have. This role is a build and scale mandate, not a maintenance role, that has a special emphasis on business development and maturing our existing partnership motion into a repeatable, mechanism-driven growth engine.
About the company:
FundThrough is a leading fintech company accelerating cash flow and enabling growth for small and medium-sized businesses that sell to large customers and wait to get paid. Based in Toronto and operating across North America, FundThrough’s AI-powered invoice funding platform gives B2B businesses fast, customized funding offers to get their invoices paid in a few days, rather than a few months, and get quick access to cash they’ve already earned.
Responsibilities:
Source and launch new partner channels
- Define ideal partner profiles through market sizing and opportunity assessments, and build a prioritized pipeline of net-new partners across strategic ecosystem categories, including AR/AP automation, embedded finance providers, B2B marketplaces, and referral/channel partners, with strong alignment to SMB-focused industries such as oil & gas, manufacturing, retail, and professional services.
- Lead end-to-end deal-making and business development, managing the full motion from handling inbound inquiries and conducting targeted outbound prospecting to developing partner-specific business cases, pitch materials, and market/revenue forecasts. Drive commercial structuring, revenue-share economics, and contract negotiation in partnership with legal and finance, while representing FundThrough with senior partner executives and at industry events.
- Partner with Marketing to execute joint go-to-market strategies, co-marketing campaigns, and enablement programs that actively drive partner-sourced pipeline, customer acquisition, and revenue growth.
- Partner cross-functionally across product, engineering, sales, marketing, credit/risk, operations, and finance to scope and launch embedded-finance integrations, ensuring a clean experience that smoothly converts partner activity into funded volume.
Grow revenue from existing partners
- Own a joint business plan for each material partner, establishing shared targets, a regular operating cadence, and clear accountability on both sides.
- Drive partner activation, adoption, and enablement by aligning on sales motions, joint GTM campaigns, and product experiences that position FundThrough within key customer workflows to generate qualified opportunities.
- Manage revenue-share and referral economics with strict margin discipline, ensuring that expansions in partner volume do not erode unit economics.
- Identify and address friction points across the partner lifecycle from onboarding to funded deals by standing up the operating system for partnerships (including attribution and deal-registration discipline, a partner pipeline and forecast, a reporting cadence to leadership, and repeatable playbooks for growing partners) and using leading indicators and performance metrics to proactively improve partner productivity.
Requirements:
- 8+ years in partnerships, business development, or channel/alliances, including experience building or materially scaling a partner motion (not only maintaining one).
- A track record of owning a revenue or funded-volume number through partners, with deals you sourced, negotiated, and grew, utilizing strong commercial negotiation skills and the ability to build senior relationships.
- Fluency in partnership economics: revenue share, referral fees, co-sell, and the discipline to protect margin while growing volume.
- Experience with integration-driven or embedded partnerships, and comfort working with marketing, product, and engineering to launch them.
- Discipline with CRM, attribution, and pipeline data; you manage partnerships like a forecastable revenue line.
- Clear, direct communicator who works well cross-functionally with sales, marketing, product, credit/risk, and finance.
Benefits:
- Opportunity to leave your mark on a growing startup
- An incredibly diverse team of brilliant minds from all over the world
- Competitive compensation, including stock options
- Health benefits/benefits stipend for US
- Family-friendly policies
- Flexible work-from-home policy
- A fully stocked kitchen (for any in office days), birthday treats, and a lunch of your choice every week (one of our values is Fun & Food!)
Salary Range:
For Canada: 140,000-180,000 CAD base salary and OTE.
For US: $100k to $140k USD base salary and OTE.
This ranges are based on relevant skills, experience, and internal equity.
