This position is responsible for contributing to the delivery of the organizational strategy that addresses business continuity and emergency management risks. If successful in this competition, you will provide guidance and support on the interpretation and application of programs, policies, and procedures to internal and external stakeholders, while fostering a culture of safety excellence.
Key Accountabilities

Business Continuity Management (BCM) Program Execution & Policy Development
Develops, implements, maintains, and provides policy advice to the BCM program.
Manages the quality, consistency, and timely delivery of BCM program activities such as business impact analysis workshops, business continuity planning and preparedness, and overall exercise strategy and testing.
Researches and stays abreast of business continuity leading practices to identify risks and mitigating strategies.
Develops and maintains key metrics and reporting to measure the success of the organizational BCM strategy.
Recommends solutions that are aligned with organizational objectives for crisis management and disaster recovery.
Participates in strategic planning initiatives, workshops, and meetings to define BCM program goals, objectives and governance processes and develop practical solutions.
Collaborates with other Crown Corporations on BCM capabilities and best practices.
Business Continuity Education and Training
Develops and implements preparedness and readiness training activities for Operational and Tactical teams.
Develops, maintains, and communicates lessons learned and action plans from BCP training exercises to support continual improvement.
Researches and understands BCM leading practices, including business disruption trends in SGI’s markets nationally to ensure continuity strategies remain relevant.
Ensures BCP owners are aware of and comply with their responsibilities under the corporate business continuity management standard.
Consults and provides expertise inside and outside the organization as a BCM subject matter expert and trusted partner to positively influence organizational resilience.
Supports a collaborative culture of risk awareness and ownership, while reinforcing a consistent approach to business continuity and resiliency risk management.
Business Disruption and Crisis Management Support
Supports organizational solution and recovery strategies in response to business disruptions.
Supports the manager and director in the Operational and Tactical teams in executing response plans.
Supports business areas in maintaining resilience aligned with maximum tolerable periods of disruption.
Develops and maintains an inventory of business strategies for consideration in response to business disruption events.
Assists in developing communication protocols to internal and external stakeholders for use during business continuity events.
Assists in developing reporting metrics to support key decision-making during business disruptions.
Collaborates with business areas to provide guidance and ensure alignment between impact analysis requirements and the capability of business support areas to respond.
Leadership
Actively contributes to and supports a culture of a high performing workforce.
Participates in divisional succession plans, ensuring ongoing professional and career development and supports development in others.
Supports a culture of leadership and accountability to effectively deliver on strategic and corporate strategies.

Corporate Management
Enables the success of programs and policies that are in alignment with corporate, strategic, and divisional strategies.
Manages risk in area of authority.
Ensures that the Health, Safety and Emergency Management Policy is applied in area of responsibility.
Prepares decision requests, decision and/or information items and/or SGI board items.
Education and Experience
A four-year degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field of study such as Business or Information Technology.
A certification in Business Continuity such as the Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute (CBCI) or a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP).
Six years’ experience with increasing responsibility in business continuity management.
A valid driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of business continuity concepts and best practices in developing and implementing a Business Continuity Management program.
Knowledge of The Saskatchewan Employment Act, The Workers’ Compensation Act, The Saskatchewan Human Rights Code (and equivalent legislation in AB, MB and ON) and other related legislation as they relate to emergency management and response.
Knowledge of the prevention and cause(s) of incidents and injuries.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of a safe workplace, including shared responsibility, accountability, and due diligence.
Skill in developing proposals and presenting recommendations to obtain alignment, co-operation, and approval for proposed courses of action, programs, and procedures.
Skill in dealing with confrontational, confidential, and difficult situations in a diplomatic and effective manner.
Ability to develop, implement and maintain the stages of Business Continuity Management within the organization.
Ability to provide innovative continuity and resiliency solutions that meet business area needs.
Pay Range:$75,552.00 - $100,728.00
