Position Overview:
The Trims Team Lead drives the trims development process, including the creation and commercialization of trims that meet Canada Goose’s quality standards across all product categories. They support the trims team operationally and strategically, ensuring excellence in execution, supplier collaboration, and cross‑functional alignment.
The Lead owns the creation and maintenance of calendars, identifies new suppliers, leads supplier meetings, and provides internal updates. They collaborate with Design on concept and seasonal trims while aligning with product strategy, design direction, target prices, and quality standards. This includes proactively researching new trims concepts—especially sustainable innovations—for future use. Please note that this is a 6-month CDD contract.
About The Role:

Lead and mentor the trim team, providing coaching, performance feedback, and development plans for direct reports.

Partner with the Trim and Packaging Manager to deliver direction and lead initiatives across the team.

Foster cross-functional collaboration with Design, Product Development, Sourcing, QA, and Compliance.

Represent the trims team in meetings, providing updates on development status, risks, and resource need to their manager.

Maintenance and creation of trims related development calendar, timelines, and SOPs.

Be the key consultant with design for development of all trims for the allocated designs.

Lead all technical discussions related to the respective material focus area, steer the development process, and support consolidation to improve business execution. Ensure we have the optimal supplier portfolio to gain the best quality, value and innovation.

Ensure the material standard sheets have been published for new commercialized trims and share with QA, Sourcing, and other partners as required.

Work with Product Integrity + Compliance team to identify and resolve issues during development. Ensure SOPS are created for process that may need improvement or developing.

Research and provide suitable sources/suppliers for new trim developments and guide suppliers to execute the design vision into a trims package which meet commercial needs of the brand.

Partner with Design to initiate and manage all trims developments for the respective material focus area together with suppliers.

Stay abreast of any new innovations through working closely with strategically important trims suppliers especially those pertaining to sustainability.

Maintain strong partnerships with suppliers, ensuring clarity on deliverables, requirements and expectations.

Provide clear communication of adoption rates and seasonal development status for their team to the Materials Manager.

Negotiate trim costs with suppliers to achieve target margins while maintaining quality standards, ensuring transparency in costing, identifying cost‑saving opportunities, and driving value without compromising performance or design intent.

Oversees component set-up in both Product-Lifecycle-Management (PLM)/ERP System.

Attend relevant trade shows to keep abreast of current trends and innovation.
About You:

College OR university degree in Textiles, Material Engineering or a comparable degree/education.

Minimum of 5-8 years work experience in Trim Development, preferably within the outdoor apparel industry.

Good management and leadership skills with the ability to guide a small team.

Excellent problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.

Technically sound Trims and Colour development background.

Strong knowledge of the trim development process including textiles, moulding, construction, finishing and printing techniques.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Previous experience with a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system

Comfortable working in a fast paced environment

Pay Range:
€63,000.00 - €78,000.00
