Role Summary

The Quality Control Associate’s main role is to ensure that product produced meets the company’s objectives for Purity, Quality, Security, and meets both external and internal regulatory requirements. The Quality Control Associate will be required to coordinate with others where necessary, working to adapt/implement company policies and procedures both internally as per the Cannabis Regulations and with respect to Operations, Quality Assurance and Facility Security Protocols.

The Quality Control Associate will provide compliance and quality control guidance as well as support the grow team. The incumbent will help to identify and maintain the highest standard of safe and consistent cannabis product while ensuring all production areas are kept clean and sanitary.

Duties and Responsibilities

Perform pH testing, moisture analysis and Water Activity analysis on samples during production
Perform pH calibration on each pH meter (4 and 7 buffers)
Perform physical/organoleptic analysis on in process and finished product
Maintain and manage samples and prepare lab analysis of finished product
Check plant temperatures during the production process
Maintain lab and equipment including sanitation
Ensures SOPs and all safety protocols are being followed
Run various QC tests including ATP monitoring on the equipment.
Monitor plants and perform nitrate and other testing on the irrigation water
QC sampling (collect samples for air quality, product quality, Finished product)
Pre-operational Checks of the premises and equipment
Prepare Foot dips and sanitation checks
Conduct in process quality control of production runs using required equipment and test procedures
Evaluate production samples and make necessary corrections
Collaborate with Supervisors and co-workers to optimize production efficiencies
Ensure IPM (Integrated Pest Management) implementation
Help QA Associates with managing the Batch Production Records
Entering samples are entered into the ERP
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
College Diploma or University Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or related fields
Good understanding of GPP, GMP, GDP, and HACCP
Experience with GPP and GMP standards
Understanding sound quality assurance principles, statistical process control, and sanitation
Familiarity with pH meter and moisture analyzers, micro swabbing, and calibration of equipment
High standard of computer literacy – especially Word and Excel
Ability to multitask as well as prioritize tasks
Ability to work as a team member
Excellent attention to detail and consistently high level of accuracy
Possess a high level of good judgement
Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Security Clearance: Security Clearance may be requested for this position. This role is conditional on a clear criminal record check

Working Hours: Salaried Position - Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Some evenings and weekends may be required.
