Overview
JKCE Probuild Contracting Corp. is seeking an Estimator & Procurement Specialist to support our construction projects from pre-construction through project execution. This role is responsible for reviewing construction drawings, performing quantity takeoffs, sourcing construction materials, obtaining supplier quotations, issuing purchase orders, and coordinating material deliveries to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed material lists for construction projects.
- Develop procurement schedules based on project timelines and construction sequencing.
- Source construction materials, equipment, and supplies from qualified vendors.
- Obtain, evaluate, and compare supplier quotations to achieve competitive pricing and value.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and monitor procurement through delivery.
- Coordinate material deliveries with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor material costs, availability, and market trends to support cost control and value engineering.
- Resolve procurement, delivery, and material-related issues promptly to minimize project delays.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and purchasing documentation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and identify opportunities for long-term purchasing partnerships.
- Provide procurement and estimating support during project tendering and throughout construction.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction procurement, estimating, quantity takeoffs, or material purchasing.
- Experience working for a General Contractor is strongly preferred. Experience with a construction material supplier, distributor, or subcontractor will also be considered.
- Solid understanding of commercial and residential construction materials and procurement processes.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Experience performing material quantity takeoffs and preparing material procurement schedules.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu, PlanSwift, Procore, or other construction estimating or project management software is considered an asset.
- Valid BC Driver's Licence is preferred.

Pay: $55,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
