The role:
We are seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Technician to join our QA department. Reporting to the QA Manager, this position has significant career growth opportunities in an expanding team. Our focus on quality is driven from the top of the organization, so the QA department has the full support of senior leaders at Saltworks.
Your main tasks will include:

Performing quality inspections on purchased parts received at Saltworks and at supplier sites prior to shipping. Inspections include:
-
Dimensional inspections of large, welded fabrications with corresponding tolerances (think tape measure instead of CMM).

Visual inspections of welds.
-
Visual inspection of coated surfaces.
-
Collection and organization of quality documentation from suppliers.
-
Generating non-conformance reports (NCRs) and following up on the resolution and closure of outstanding NCRs.

Submitting deviation requests and following up on the approval and documentation of deviations.
-
Developing inspection plans with input from parts designers and project engineers.
-
Drafting Quality Management Plans (QMPs) for review by the QA Manager.
You will be a great fit if you have:

Post secondary technical education in science, engineering, or quality.
-
A minimum of 3 years’ experience with quality inspections in a manufacturing environment.
-
An understanding of dimensional measurement techniques (hand tools).
-
The ability to read/interpret engineering drawings.
-
The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely in English (verbal and written).
-
A strong desire to learn and grow.
-
An interest in travelling (up to 25% of travel within North America will be required).
-
A positive attitude, a can-do approach, and willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in as required.
What will put you ahead of other candidates:

Experience with weld inspections on structural steel or ASME pressure vessels and piping.

Quality certification and training:

ASQ certified tech e.g., CQT or CQI
-
ISO 9001:2015 training or internal inspector certification
