Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Supervisor - Staffing Office is accountable for leadership, organization and direction of all staff and activities in the Sturgeon Community Hospital Staffing Office in order to provide an integrated and seamless scheduling service for the hospital and its departments. This position manages the Staffing Office resources both organizationally and financially, including identification of staffing requirements, recruitment and performance management. The position is the communication link between the frontline managers and the staffing office. Providing input on scheduling best practices and ensure consistent staffing procedures throughout the site. The incumbent is responsible for promoting collective agreement compliance and to understand and apply the articles in the collective agreement with scheduling practices for the Staffing Office.

A key responsibility is communication and collaboration with Department Managers to discuss needs or concerns and to resolve issues related to scheduling, staffing or payroll. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring smooth operation of the Staffing Office. The Supervisor ensures adherence to Collective Agreement Best Practice Guidelines. Identifies collective agreement issues related to scheduling that require clarification and provides input into solutions. The Supervisor works to increase awareness of scheduling best practice among managers and staff and provides education sessions where needed. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that new office personnel receive adequate orientation and training. Ensures business processes are followed.

Required Qualifications:
Baccalaureate in health related field, Business Administration, Education is preferred or 5 years previous supervisory managerial experience in a health care setting. Previous experience with staff scheduling and scheduling provisions with knowledge of ESP, time entry, time cards and payroll is required. The incumbent requires a good understanding of AHS policies and procedures, collective agreement interpretations and payroll practices (ESP and ePeople).
