Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Liquor Store Clerk to join our retail team. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting products, offering product demos when appropriate
- Operate POS systems accurately for sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Maintain merchandising standards by restocking shelves and organizing displays to attract customers
- Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance sales opportunities
- Ensure compliance with legal age restrictions for alcohol sales and verify customer identification as needed
- Keep the store clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout the shift
- Handle customer inquiries courteously via phone or in person, providing excellent communication and phone etiquette
- Manage time effectively to ensure all duties are completed efficiently during shifts
- Assist in inventory management and participate in stock counts as required
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities in English; bilingual skills are a plus
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic math for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Knowledge of retail sales techniques, merchandising, and upselling strategies
- Ability to perform product demos confidently and educate customers about available products
- Organizational skills to maintain an orderly store environment and manage time effectively during shifts
- Good phone etiquette for handling inquiries professionally
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic understanding of alcohol laws and age verification procedures
- Experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
Pay: From $18.25 per hour
