Financial Controller

Beau’s is seeking an ambitious Financial Controller to oversee all accounting and financial functions of the company. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced controller to take on challenging responsibilities, lead by example, share their knowledge, and learn about the craft beer industry, all while working in an environment that is fast-paced, dynamic and fun.

Accountabilities
Provide oversight and directives for company AR, AP, payroll and other finance functions
Responsible for the preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements and external reporting to financial institutions
Evaluate and report on performance, financial forecasting and operational metrics tracking
Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization
Responsible for all statutory filings, including commodities tax and excise duties
With input from the VP, Finance and Operations, create and implement system documentation and internal controls with respect to financial policies, processes and procedures
Key involvement in annual corporate budgeting and monthly review and follow-up on departmental/corporate results and budget variances
Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions
Manage cash flows and prepare forecasts
Develop and maintain an inventory reporting and management system and ensure that inventory is appropriately costed
Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of
Manage the internal SRED program as well as the external reporting to Canada Revenue Agency
Provide advice and guidance on all accounting matters including record keeping, analysis, and reporting
Set the priorities within the accounting group
Coordinate and oversee the year-end audit and liaise with the external auditors
Perform financial analysis and assist with the assessment of projects, products and opportunities as required
Support new systems or projects and their implementation from a strategic finance and internal control perspective
Guide cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures
Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards

Requirements
University degree in Business/Accounting
Professional accounting designation (such as CA, CPA, CGA, CMA) an asset
A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in corporate accounting and financial management including internal/external audits
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and applications
Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Management and/or supervisory experience
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make the necessary decisions to move forward the work at hand
Knowledge of ERP computer systems, specifically SAP Business One, an asset
Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
Advanced knowledge of MS Office with an emphasis on Excel, Power Query and Power Pivot
Attention to detail in all areas of work
Manufacturing experience is an asset

Interacts with employees and management at all levels
Work location will primarily be in Vankleek Hill
Overtime and occasional domestic travel may be required
