Dogtopia of Aurora Village is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and certified (or certification-pursuing) Dog Trainer to join our growing team!
This is an exciting opportunity to help expand our training department, which officially launched in January 2026. As our Dog Trainer, you'll work closely with our daycare and boarding clients, providing exceptional one-on-one and small group training programs while helping us grow one of our fastest-growing service offerings.
About the Role
As our Dog Trainer, you will:
- Conduct engaging 1:1 private training sessions and small group classes for daycare and boarding clients
- Develop customized training plans using force-free, positive reinforcement methods
- Build strong relationships with pet parents by educating and coaching them throughout their training journe
- Actively assist in growing our training program by attracting new clients and promoting training services within the Dogtopia community
- Manage your own schedule and bookings while maintaining excellent communication with clients
- Work collaboratively with our Operations Manager and Front Desk team to coordinate appointments and manage administrative tasks within our daycare management software, Gingr
- Maintain accurate client records, training notes, and follow-up communication.
- Help shape and expand the future of Dogtopia of Aurora Village's training department through creativity, initiative, and exceptional customer service.
What We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate is:
- Certified in force-free, positive reinforcement dog training, or actively pursuing a recognized dog training certification
- Passionate about canine behavior, learning, and educating pet parents
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a supportive team
- Self-motivated, organized, and highly accountable
- Confident managing their own client bookings, scheduling, and administrative responsibilities
- Excited about helping grow a new and expanding service within a thriving business
- Excellent at building relationships and delivering outstanding customer experiences
- Previous professional dog training experience is considered an asset.
