Overview
At Commercial Truck Equipment, every employee plays an important role in our success, but our technicians are at the heart of what we do. We build, service, and support specialized vehicles that serve critical industries, including fire services, utilities, towing, municipalities, airports, and other essential sectors. Our customers rely on us to keep their equipment operating safely and efficiently, and our Service team is integral to delivering that commitment every day.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Shop Foreman to lead the daily operations of our Service Department. This role is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of utility fleet equipment, fire apparatus, and other specialized vehicles while providing leadership and direction to a team of skilled technicians. The successful candidate will balance hands-on technical knowledge with strong supervisory skills to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of education, technical training, and practical experience that enables them to confidently support the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of complex electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including aerial devices, cranes, and other specialized equipment. The work is diverse and challenging, requiring critical thinking, sound decision-making, and a broad technical knowledge base rather than repetitive repair tasks.
Successful leaders in this role have often come from a variety of industries, including marine, automotive, manufacturing, heavy equipment, emergency vehicles, and industrial maintenance. While their backgrounds may differ, they share common qualities: they are accountable, adaptable, and independent problem-solvers with strong troubleshooting abilities and a commitment to excellence.
As the Shop Foreman, you will be responsible for coordinating daily workflow, supporting technician development, ensuring operational efficiency, and fostering effective collaboration between service, engineering, parts, procurement, and other departments. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, as you will work closely with employees and customers to ensure a high level of service and customer satisfaction.
If you have a passion for leadership, technical problem-solving, and helping a team succeed in a fast-paced and rewarding environment, we encourage you to apply.
