Assistant Manager – Tim Hortons
About the Role
The Assistant Manager supports the Restaurant Manager in leading the team to deliver an excellent guest experience every shift. You help run day‑to‑day operations, coach and support team members, and ensure standards for speed, service, and product quality are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example on the floor, supporting guest service at front counter, drive‑thru, and production when needed.
- Assist with supervising daily operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash control, and shift handovers.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members to Tim Hortons standards.
- Coach and provide ongoing feedback to team members on guest service, order accuracy, and adherence to procedures.
- Help create and manage weekly schedules to meet labour targets while ensuring adequate coverage for all dayparts.
- Monitor product quality, food safety, and cleanliness in all areas of the restaurant; take corrective action when needed.
- Support inventory management, including ordering, receiving, rotating stock, and minimizing waste.
- Handle and resolve guest concerns in a professional, guest‑focused manner.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies, health and safety regulations, and provincial employment standards.
- Act as the Manager on Duty in the absence of the Restaurant Manager, making operational decisions to keep shifts running smoothly.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous leadership experience in a quick service restaurant or similar fast‑paced environment (Tim Hortons experience is an asset).
- Strong guest service mindset with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable giving direction and feedback.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi‑task and problem‑solve under pressure.
- Reliable, punctual, and accountable, with a strong sense of ownership for results.
- Comfortable working on your feet for long periods and performing hands‑on duties (serving guests, making drinks, food prep, cleaning).
Availability
- Full-time availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and occasional additional hours during busy periods.
