HNR Properties provides both commercial and residential spaces in Downtown Toronto that are safe, dependable, well-designed, and tailored to the needs of our tenants. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee construction projects from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budgets, and effective communication among all stakeholders. This role is crucial in managing on-site activities, maintaining safety standards, and fostering relationships with subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop construction schedules and plans for timely project delivery.
- Track and monitor construction budgets using construction management software, including general site conditions, labor, and materials.
- Communicate and report to clients regularly to keep them informed of project status.
- Create and deliver daily log reports through construction management software, including updates with photos.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Identify and manage project deliverables along the critical path with set milestones.
- Assist in scope development for construction estimates, identifying inherent risks and opportunities.
- Review project documents and analyze subcontractor requirements thoroughly.
- Collaborate with Project Manager, clients, or consultants to address issues requiring clarification.
- Prepare summaries of issues and participate in detailed estimate reviews.
- Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors to ensure project success.
- Assist in developing and distributing scopes of work and requests for quotations.
- Coordinate field staff to ensure successful project delivery.
- Work with estimators and project development teams during the preconstruction phase to develop work plans and preliminary schedules.
- Proactively manage and track changes to the scope of work, developing and communicating change orders as necessary.
- Conduct project lessons learned meetings to create recommendations for company growth.
- Develop and manage project quality control plans and close-out project deficiency punch lists.
- Identify and manage project risks, including evaluating and calculating risk for construction projects.
- Monitor and evaluate change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct handover meetings from procurement to construction stages.
- Liaise with subcontractors for tendering and constructability reviews.
- Develop and manage project safety plans in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Implement and manage site safety plans and protocols.
- Conduct site safety orientations and weekly toolbox talks with staff and subcontractors.
- Manage on-site equipment rentals and material tracking using construction management software.
- Communicate on-site activities, challenges, and successes with the project management team.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Site Supervisor or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety protocols, and regulations.
- Proficiency in construction management software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams effectively.
