We are actively recruiting for the role of Process Engineer, reporting to the Manager, Process Engineering & System Planning. This role will provide process engineering support to gas gathering and processing assets within British Columbia and Alberta.
Responsibilities:
- Gather and analyze data, complete process engineering calculations and simulations for operational troubleshooting, facility and pipeline optimization, debottlenecking, and project development.
- Update and maintain the gas gathering system models for liquid hold up prediction and capacity management.
- Prepare process scope of work documents for O&M and Capital projects and support the project teams.
- Support and participate in HAZOP and other Process Hazard Analyses with scenario validation, PSV capacity calculations and safeguarding reviews.
- Support the Process Safety Management Team with process safety event trending and analysis.
- Support management of change, turnarounds and found work.
- Prepare monthly Operational Target KPI reports and coordinate regular Asset Team Operational Target meetings.
- Support Regulatory, Environmental and Production Accounting reporting submissions.
- Support the identification, quantification, and scoping of energy efficiency and green-house gas reduction opportunities.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering
- Experience directly related to the design and operation of midstream sour gas facilities including compressor stations, gas processing plants and pipelines.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- A proactive team player with excellent collaboration skills and the ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated technical writing ability such as memos and formal technical reports.
- Able to take ownership of tasks and work with various stakeholders to complete the task.
- Experience with facility process modelling tools such as ProMax, HYSIS or VMGSim
Preferred:
- Professional Engineer registered with APEGA and/or EGBC.
- 3-8 years’ experience directly related to the design and operation of midstream sour gas facilities including compressor stations, gas processing plants and pipelines.
- Experience with Process Safety Management would be an asset
- Experience with pipeline modelling tools such as PipeSim and WinFlow.
- Experience with PI Process, PI DataLink, Excel.
