Description: District Social Emotional Learning Teacher - Grades K-12

Contract Type: Full-time Continuing (1.0 FTE)
Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $70,392 to $119,187, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Terms and conditions pursuant to the Collective Agreement between the Cranbrook and Fernie Teachers' Association and School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay).
- Preference will be given to applicants with BC Teacher Certification.
- Must have a degree/formal training and/or teaching experience in subjects and at a level specific to each posting.
Job Summary:
District Social Emotional Learning Teacher - Grades K-12
1.0 FTE continuing contract, starting September 8, 2026 or upon completion of the posting process.
Must have a Master Degree in Inclusive Education, Social Emotional Learning, or an area related to Social Emotional Learning. Must have a proven ability to teach students in social emotional learning with an approach to reach all learners. Must be self-directed with excellent time management, organizational and communication skills.
Assets would include:
- Course work or professional learning pertaining to social emotional learning as well as trauma informed practices.
- Experience with preparation, presentation and facilitation of social emotional learning workshops and professional learning communication.
- Classroom teaching experience.
- Previous co-teaching experience and building capacity with fellow educators and support staff .
This is a District position that will have a home base of either Cranbrook or the Elk Valley.
Program Description: The District Social Emotional Learning Teacher works collaboratively with district and school staff in building capacity to support social emotional learning in the classroom through leading, organizing and off bring professional learning to staff .
