Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented HSSEQ (Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality) Manager to lead our safety initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement. In this vital role, you will oversee safety programs within manufacturing environments, ensure compliance with industry standards, and develop training initiatives that empower our teams to operate safely and efficiently. Reporting directly to the Head of UK logistics with a dotted line into Group HSSEQ.
Duties
- Lead HSSEQ programs, policies and initiatives across NL and NB.
- Own HSSEQ compliance, standards and performance for both locations.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, client and company requirements.
- Lead incident investigations, corrective actions and follow-up.
- Manage injury, disability and return-to-work processes.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and behavioural observations.
- Mentor supervisors on inspections, hazard identification and safety practices.
- Review hazard reports, trends and corrective actions.
- Lead ERP drills and tabletop exercises.
- Conduct regular site and client visits.
- Maintain strong client HSSEQ relationships and attend client meetings.
- Monitor client programs and changing regulatory requirements.
- Lead safety meetings and issue HSSEQ communications.
- Develop and review procedures, risk assessments and safe work practices.
- Maintain facility HSSEQ documentation and safety boards.
- Communicate legislative and regulatory changes to employees.
- Champion employee involvement and a proactive safety culture.
- Ensure safe work practices and compliance with company standards.
- Lead safety interventions and manage unsafe work refusals.
- Identify and report HSSEQ trends, hazards and risks to management.
- Support continuous improvement of the HSSEQ management system.
Group HSSEQ & Sustainability Reporting
- Submit monthly Hours Worked Reporting to Group HSSEQ.
- Participate in the Quarterly HSSEQ Network Meeting.
- Prepare the Quarterly HSSEQ Summary Report for the Quarterly Safety Excellence Committee Meeting.
- Complete required HSEQ metrics and reporting for Group HSSEQ.
- Support Sustainability reporting to the Sustainability & New Energy Team.
- Provide accurate, timely data for corporate HSEQ and sustainability initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Skills & Preferences
- CRSP designation is required.
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive HSEQ experience, preferably in oilfield, transportation, energy or industrial operations.
- Strong knowledge of applicable Newfoundland and Labrador and New Brunswick OHS, transportation and environmental legislation.
- Proven experience independently managing HSEQ across multiple locations.
- Strong incident investigation, risk assessment and corrective action skills.
- Experience developing and implementing HSEQ programs and procedures.
- Strong understanding of safety management systems, audits and regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in HSEQ reporting, data analysis and Microsoft Office.

Pay: $90,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
