Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and caring Christian Summer Camp Assistants to support our summer programs in Mississauga. This role involves engaging with children, facilitating activities, and creating a safe, fun, and educational environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a background in early childhood education or related fields. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in youth development and camp programming.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead instructors in planning and implementing daily camp activities and lessons.
- Supervise children during various activities, ensuring safety and engagement at all times.
- Support children with their individual needs, including tutoring or educational support when necessary.
- Help organize and facilitate games, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, and group projects.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive environment that encourages participation and social development.
- Ensure camp rules and safety guidelines are followed by all participants.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to promote a supportive camp atmosphere.
Skills
- Experience or background in tutoring or teaching young children.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles.
- Strong ability to work with children of diverse backgrounds and needs.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Ability to organize activities and manage groups of children effectively.
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for fostering a positive learning environment.
- Prior experience working with children is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Pay: $17.50-$18.00 per hour
