LIVESTOCK TECHNICIAN
Monitor, Alberta
We are currently seeking a motivated and dependable Livestock Technician to join our team!
We are a 5th generation family ranching operation focused on regenerative agriculture, livestock stewardship, and continuous improvement of our land, cattle, and community. We take pride in maintaining a positive team environment, quality livestock, and well kept facilities and equipment.
Responsibilities include:
-Monitoring livestock health and treating cattle as needed
-Processing cattle including vaccinations, branding, pregnancy testing & semen testing -Winter feeding, operating loaders & feed trucks, and moving temporary fences for winter grazing
-Operating and maintaining livestock water systems
-Low stress cattle handling using a horse or quad
-Monitoring cattle during calving season, identifying problems, assisting when needed & tagging calves
-Operating and maintaining ranch equipment including pickups, quads & tractors Maintaining barbed wire and electric fence systems
-Assisting with haying and other farm/ranch duties as needed
-Working well independently and as part of a team

Qualifications:
-Valid Class 5 driver’s license required
Class 3 or Class 1 considered an asset
-Livestock handling experience
