Sumas Environmental Services Inc. ("Sumas") is an environmental company based in Burnaby, British Columbia. We are looking to hire an Accounts Payable Administrator to join our accounting team at our head office in Burnaby.
Duties and tasks will include receiving and processing invoices for our 4 locations. We receive between 35 to 45 invoices per day. Within that framework of processing invoices, duties will include getting appropriate manager approval for invoices, reviewing the PO system to confirm the invoices matches the quoted price and confirming and applying payment once processed. The AP admin will also be tasked with responding to service providers about the status of their invoices and upcoming payments. Other variable tasks include processing and auditing staff Visa expenses and other claimed expenses.
We use Sage 300 as our accounting software and require candidates to have previous work experience using that platform.
The ideal candidate will be self-directed, detail-oriented and have strong communications skills, both spoken and writing. As you will also be working with a team of other accounting personnel, we value a team player who can work collaboratively with others.
As you are part of a team with other accounting administrators, you may be asked to assist with other accounting related tasks such as client credit card charges.
After 3 months of full-time employment, you are eligible for enrolment in our Extended Health and Benefits plan with Sunlife.

Hours of work will be Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays, 8 hours per day. You will not be asked to work overtime. This position is not suitable for working from home.
