Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks over long distances to ensure timely delivery of freight across regional and national routes. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to handle various types of freight and equipment. A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and experience with heavy equipment operation are essential for success in this position.
Duties
- Safely operate large commercial trucks over long-distance routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Transport freight efficiently from origin to destination, ensuring timely deliveries
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and other critical components
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with company policies and federal regulations
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance or coordinate repairs with automotive repair specialists as needed
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving, preferably with long-haul routes
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and other loading machinery is a plus
- Basic automotive repair skills are desirable for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues on the road
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes
- Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and perform manual tasks related to freight handling

Pay: $44,179.51-$112,491.47 per year
