As part of its process driven Yard Management, Sunrise Metals is looking for a Metal Scrapyard Scale Operator to manage and augment its scale operations. This is a progressive position offering a team environment and growth opportunities in the Group's Operations.
The Metal Scrapyard Scale Operator will be responsible for managing the Scale for the Sunrise Group of Companies. The scale is a critical operational component for much of the Group's Operations.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Documentation of all inbound/outbound trucks, rail cars, and other supply deliveries
- Manage accurate scaling and yard movement of inbound/outbound trucks and other transportation, including Railcars
- Efficiently organize vehicular traffic.
- Professionally communicate with other team members regarding dynamic information.
- Maintain paperwork with excellent attention to detail and record keeping skills.
- Manage and lead the Scale Operations and Team as a critical component of Yard Operations.
- Taking pictures/coordinating with other workers to get pictures of the load received and update the system in a timely manner
- Issue weight receipts to outbound drivers
- Enter details in ERP and E-Term Systems (training will be provided)
- Ensure proper documentation is distributed according to the procedure
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years metal scrap yard experience is preferred.
- Must be willing to commute or move to Hamilton
- Must be self motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
- Ability to operate (or quickly learn) computer-based scale, and other systems, such as ERP.
- MUST HAVE EXCELLENT ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND ACCURACY.
- Knowledge of general computer skills and various systems of weights and measures.
- An ability to understand directions, and follow detailed procedures.
- The ability to answer multiple forms of communication and respond to general and public inquiries.
- A professional outlook exhibiting reliability and diligence.
- Good interpersonal skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
