About us: Vella Radio is a two-way radio shop, car entertainment supplier and radio repeater service provider. We are proud to be locally owned and operated in both Salmon Arm and our second location, Vernon Communications in Vernon. We provide high quality new products including Kenwood Communications, car entertainment lines, and the Tait and Motorola Commercial Series radio lines. We are also a dealer for Zoleo Satellite Communicators, Iridium Satellite Telephones and Compustar remote start/alarm. We work primarily in the Shuswap / North Okanagan area and provide regular service to Revelstoke.
We are seeking an individual skilled in radio and stereo installations, radio programming, sales, and remote setups. While on-the-job training will be provided, prior experience in these areas is considered advantageous. Location will be our Vernon Communication store.
Skillset
Electronics Knowledge: A strong understanding of electronics principles, circuits, components, and schematics is essential for diagnosing and repairing radio equipment.
Radio Frequency (RF) Basics: Proficiency in RF theory, antenna systems, propagation, modulation, and demodulation techniques is crucial for proper radio installation and troubleshooting.
Soldering and Wiring: Skillful soldering, cable management, and wiring techniques are vital for assembling and connecting various components within radio systems.
Equipment Operation: Ability to operate and configure different types of radio equipment, including transceivers, antennas, tuners, amplifiers, and signal processors.
Antenna Installation: Knowledge of antenna types, placement, and tuning for optimal performance, as well as safe installation practices, to ensure proper signal transmission and reception.

- Job involves fieldwork and mountain trips for repeater maintenance, so a reasonable level of physical fitness is a must.

Desired Experience:
- Stereo Install Experience
- 2 Way Radio Experience
- Remote Starter Experience
- Certificate or diploma in Technician program would be an asset
Pay Scale/Benefits
- $21-$27 per hour dependent on experience
- Health benefits after completion of 3-month probationary period
