Key-West Asphalt (333) Ltd is a rapidly expanding company with an office and yard in Abbotsford, and job sites from lower mainland and anywhere in BC (Servicing entire BC). We are looking for someone that is capable and reliable to work with our site superintendent to maintain and grow our safety culture here at Key-West. The Construction Safety Officer (CSO) will enforce our company safety policies, work procedures, OH&S Manual, and work with WorkSafe BC to stay relevant and up to date with BC safety laws regulations. Must have a license to drive to different site locations.
Education: CSO designation/Certified CSO and CPR Certification (preferred)
Experience: minimum 1 year (preferred)
Benefits: After 3 months of probation
Language: Fluent in English/Punjabi is an asset
Job Duties:
- Clear understanding of road construction protocol
- Conduct site inspections
- Monitor safety procedures are being followed by all employees including sub trades
- Lead safety meetings, record minutes and posting as required
- Proactive in identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions
- Assisting the superintendent with site safety requirements
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly safety reports
- Facilitate site orientation
- Coordinating with contractors about policies and procedures
- Ensure that all accidents, incidents and injuries are properly reported and corrective actions taken
- Conduct safety audits
- Prepare site safety plan and strategy
- Administer first aid as needed. Preference to OFA Level 3
