We are seeking our next great team member to join our expanding team as a part-time Human Resource Manager. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, confident, exercises good judgment and decision-making ability, and takes initiative to provide excellent service to our stakeholders.
Oversee full-cycle recruitment, including job descriptions, job postings, screening applicants, phone/in-person interviews, reference and background checks, employment agreements, onboarding/offboarding.
Prepares employees by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs
Build effective relationships with internal clients to understand their business goals to proactively identify and implement solutions in line with company strategy
Field, investigate, and resolve employee issues, concerns, and complaints.
Monitor employee engagement and retention and suggest recommendations where required.
Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs
Ensure a safe and secure work environment by developing and maintaining emergency plans, safety guidelines, and training in compliance with legislative standards
Prepare, update, and recommend human resource policies and procedures, as needed
Bachelor’s degree preferred, complimented with a CHRP designation.
4-7 years of relevant and proven work experience as a Human Resource Manager.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems, as needed
Thorough knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations including all provincial and federal legislation.
Demonstrated ability to individually analyze and assess processes, critically thinking through challenges, and exercise a high level of attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work with minimal up-front guidance, and take ownership of their work through organization and time management.
Ability to act with discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
Preferred experience in a start-up.
