Overview
We are seeking a skilled Roofer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and carpentry, with experience in various roofing techniques. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. As a Roofer, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential and commercial buildings.
Responsibilities
- Install roofing systems using various materials including shingles, metal, and tiles
- Repair and replace damaged roofing materials
- Ensure proper sealing and waterproofing of roofs using caulking and other materials
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine project specifications
- Perform heavy lifting and carry materials to job sites
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in roofing or related construction fields
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in roofing tasks
- Strong understanding of carpentry principles and practices
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with caulking techniques for weatherproofing roofs
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) and work at heights
- Previous maintenance person experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
