Overview
Family owned business seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. Lodging and meal allowance provided when out of town travel is required.
Duties
- Safely operate tractor and live bottom trailer to transport product to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations while on the road and at delivery sites.
- Assist with basic automotive repairs as needed to ensure vehicle reliability.
Requirements
- Valid commercial class 1 driver's license.
- Copy of current drivers abstract.
- 2-3 years experience in hauling asphalt and aggregate materials.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws and regulations pertaining to truck driving.
- Time management skills with a focus on punctuality.
- References required.
- Responsible for inspecting, cleaning and maintaining the equipment.
Job Type: Seasonal
Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
