Security Officer

The position of the Security Officer offers dynamic challenges in ensuring the security of our Canadian locations, and assisting with our US locations. The successful applicant will become an integral part of our Facilities team. We are looking for an individual who has strong security management skills and is interested in growing their career.

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
Maintaining a safe and secure environment by ensuring the integrity and security of Price’s products and protecting the company’s resources and assets.
Developing, implementing and managing the corporate physical security framework in alignment with policies, and industry standards. Developing standards and processes, documents controls and managing the implementation (e.g. video surveillance standard, new building standard, access card standard, physical key standard, etc.).
Maintaining, researching, evaluating, communicating and implementing emerging physical security risk of security issues relating to strategies, methodologies, concepts and best practices in security management. Conducting analysis and developing recommendations and proactive strategies for improvement or prevention of ongoing security risks.
Overseeing, administering and maintaining corporate physical security-related infrastructure (e.g. keys, card access, alarms, video surveillance, panic buttons, etc.).
Developing, modifying and administering the corporate identification and security access card system, managing the installation, and servicing for the security card access systems.
Managing contract security guard services and procurement to meet ongoing/emerging business unit security requirements.
Maintaining, reviewing and administering contracts with third party security contractors for card access and video surveillance. Coordinating installations of physical security-related infrastructure.
Conducting analysis on incident reporting and developing recommendations/action plans relating to physical security incidents. Responding to and managing security inquiries, troubleshooting, etc. with all necessary stakeholders.
Responding to video requests.
Maintaining CTPAT certification & compliance.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
A High School Diploma with related experience in security, policing or loss prevention required.
College/University Degree in Criminology or studies in justice and law enforcement.
CPP, PSS or PCI Certifications considered an asset.
Strong security system management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Microsoft Office/Computer experience.
Knowledge of the relevant provincial and federal laws, rules and regulations including the Criminal Code and Trespass to Property Act.
Knowledge of security technologies and equipment such as CCTV, access/entry control, intrusion detection, door hardware and mechanical locks/keys, standard computer hardware as well as specialized security hardware and software systems.
