The Director, Business Development will lead and oversee the Business Development (BD) department for the Company. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to grow the business, leading marketing initiatives, managing the proposal creation process, and building long-term relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the construction industry and a strong ability to drive business growth through proactive business development efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aimed at expanding the company’s market presence, identifying new business opportunities, and
increasing revenue.
- Oversee market research to identify potential clients and emerging trends within the construction industry.
- Analyze and assess competitor offerings, market demands, and client needs to create targeted business strategies.
- Establish, develop, and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Lead client engagement efforts, including client presentations, meetings, and follow-up activities to secure new business.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client needs are met, including project planning and delivery.
- Oversee the development and execution of marketing initiatives, including digital marketing, branding, social media, and promotional campaigns.
- Lead the creation of marketing materials such as brochures, presentations, and website content that effectively communicate the company’s value propositions.
- Ensure the company’s brand is consistently represented across all platforms and marketing efforts.
- Lead and manage the proposal creation process for bids and tenders, ensuring proposals are comprehensive, competitive, and submitted on time.
- Collaborate with the Estimating, Operations, and Project Management teams to gather relevant information for bids and ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Develop and refine proposal templates and ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
- Lead and manage the Business Development team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure the team meets performance goals.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of BD and marketing staff.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the department.
- Monitor, track, and report on key business development metrics and outcomes, providing regular updates to the CEO and executive team.
- Set measurable goals for the BD team and assess performance against established KPIs.
- Continuously assess the effectiveness of business development initiatives and adjust strategies accordingly.
