The Video Monitoring Attendance (VMA) provides continuous monitoring of up to 9 high-risk patients in clinical units at the UOHI via multiple camera feeds. High-risk patients include those with a high fall risk, delirium/confusion/dementia or wandering/elopement risk patient. The VMA will be expected to efficiently manage the video monitoring software and attentively watch video streams of multiple patient rooms.
Days, evenings and nights, every second weekend, 8 hour shifts (07:00-15:00, 15:00-23:00, 23:00-07:00).

High School Diploma (Grade 12);
Three (3) to Six (6) months recent clerical or clinical or equivalent experience;
Basic technology background and experience with computer applications is required to navigate video monitoring software;
Basic computer key board skills and general PC knowledge;
Ability to exercise independent judgement in emergency situations required;
Successful completion of the Video Monitoring Technician (VMT) training program during the first month of employment and prior to beginning VMT shifts is required;
Proficiency in English– oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level) and French - oral expression (intermediate level) and comprehension (intermediate level).
Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French- and English-speaking clients.
