The Role
We are seeking a Pharmacist to lead daily operations, uphold regulatory standards, and drive both patient outcomes and business performance. You will set the tone for service quality and team culture while managing all aspects of the dispensary.
This role requires a strong commitment to patient safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- ensure full compliance with ACP, NAPRA, and provincial regulations.
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently in accordance with physician orders and legal regulations.
- Provide expert consultation to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and modify medication therapy plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Monitor patient responses to prescribed medications and adjust therapy as necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of prescriptions, interventions, and patient interactions in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Educate patients on medication adherence, proper administration techniques, and health management strategies.
- Stay current with new pharmaceutical developments, medical terminology, and best practices in patient care.
Qualification:
- A valid license in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
- Authorization to administer injections.
- APA is preferred.
- A warm, patient-first attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Experience with Kroll is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Alberta pharmacy regulations and standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication and customer service skills.
- Strong clinical knowledge and patient counselling skills.
- Business mindset with ability to balance care and operations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
