0.200 FTE Social Studies Teacher
Salmon Arm Secondary - Jackson Campus
This is a temporary assignment effective September 30, 2019 to January 27, 2020 or return of teacher to full contractual FTE. This position consists of Social Studies 9-10 and will be worked on Wednesdays

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts or Education (Secondary emphasis preferred);
Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch.

Teachers applying for this position should possess the following attributes:

academic credentials and/or experience in teaching secondary in the above noted subject;

working knowledge of the renewed curriculum at the secondary level;

demonstrated successful teaching at secondary level;

demonstrated ability and willingness to team teach including collaborative planning;

commitment to involving parents in their children’s learning;

commitment to fostering a collaborative and cooperative working environment;

excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment with other staff members;

committed to stimulating student interest and confidence in learning;

evidence of ability to motivate secondary students;

demonstrated use of a variety of instructional and assessment strategies including criterion referencing and formative assessment.
