Englobe is searching for a new Director of Operations, for our Atlantic Mechanical and Electrical Engineering team. Reporting to the Vice President, Atlantic and Located in Atlantic Canada, the Director of Operations is a senior leader with significant business acumen in consulting engineering. As a leader, the ideal candidate is confident in their ability to not only manage the operations but to lead a diverse team to continued success.
Your Contribution

Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules;

Perform operations management to meet and exceed corporate objectives;

Plan, assign, coordinate and supervise work, projects and activities performed by the Mechanical and Electrical Operation Center. Work with project managers to ensure that projects are set-up and executed in full compliance with quality standards and regulations;

Ensure the efficiency of the service with emphasis on quality, customer satisfaction and profitability of the projects, and management of human resources including employee engagement and chargeability;

Actively participate in meetings of the Operation Center and communicate to the Operation’s Center team leaders and project managers the objectives and challenges set by the company, the business unit and the Operation Center;

Ensure and pursue the implementation of company policies;

Provide technical leadership and mentoring and mobilize the group of team leaders, project managers and other resources;

Help manage the training plans and career development of employees;

Develop budget guidelines of the Operation Centre for the fiscal year and review the financial activities according to the budget;

Overall accountability for Operation Center budget;

Represent the company during meetings with clients and the various internal teams, in a multidisciplinary project context;

Act as a senior professional in various projects as applicable;

Actively engage in the organization and tracking of major projects in the Operation Center;

Analyze project planning, optimal use of resources, and the identification of talent acquisition in collaboration with the team leaders and project managers;

Oversee client satisfaction and the establishment of long-term relationships;

Promote and develop the local market to increase the business base in the area under their responsibility;

Support the business development team in the efforts to increase market share on a local and national level;
-
Drive business development and proposals for the Operation Center and support the region’s related activities.
Your Profile
-
University Degree in Engineering; post-graduate degree would be considered an asset;
-
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in business management, project management functions and business development;

Experience and exceptional understanding in consulting engineering;
-
Experience in a management role, leadership, autonomy and ability to establish, maintain and promote positive working relations;

Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Bilingualism is considered a strong asset.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Willingness and ability to travel throughout Atlantic Canada.

Possession of or eligibility to obtain security clearance required. Minimum is Reliability Clearance with the Government of Canada.

Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety.
