Job Summary
Reporting to the VP Operations, the Process Innovation Engineer’s responsibilities include establishing processes to ensure all daily operations of the Edmonton facility run smoothly and effectively. This role is responsible for the development and coordination of all operational processes on an ongoing basis to maximize production performance within established safety, quality, and cost parameters. The Process Innovation Engineer will be innovative and entrepreneurial and have excellent strategic planning and operational working knowledge.
We will consider candidates located in all Canadian provinces. The incumbent must be willing to relocate to Edmonton, Alberta.
Duties
- In partnership with the VP Operations, responsible for Edmonton office and production process improvements, including development of specific targets that meet overall company objectives.
- Complete regular business analyses on processes to determine if corrective action/improvements are required based on established KPI’s and OKR’s.
- Troubleshoot issues as they arise and support high-priority jobs, as required.
- Oversee and facilitate training of departmental employees in their assigned roles to achieve the company's standards for quality, quantity, and safety.
- Develop and maintain positive employee relations aligned with the company culture and values and maintain open lines of communication with employees.
- Collaborate with each department for continuous improvement and innovation opportunities to processes.
- Ensure a safe and healthy workplace environment; including all equipment, workstations, and devices.
- Support management teams to ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes, while maintaining quality and considering costs.
- Support VP Operations to manage budgets and control costs; review weekly forecasts, capital expenditures, headcount, etc.
- Support all ESA, OHSA, WCB, and other internal or external applicable legislated environmental, health & safety regulations are maintained with HR.
- Other tasks as assigned by the VP Operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering field (e.g., Civil, Structural, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering) or Business is preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in an Engineering/Operations role required; strong construction product knowledge an asset. Aluminum industry experience preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience in General Management or Process Improvement leadership roles; experience in small batch custom manufacturing preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources) required
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proactive problem solver.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $72,000.00-$84,500.00 per year
