As a Production Controller, you will coordinate the day-to-day production schedule, manage work orders and finished-goods inventory, and work across Production, Supply Chain, Planning, Engineering, and Quality to help meet client commitments.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will create and maintain work orders in Syspro, investigate scheduling and delivery issues, monitor production requirements, and support on-time delivery within our ISO 13485 quality environment. Total compensation range is expected to be:
64,600 - 80,700 CAD for the Production Controller position. Annual variable compensation tied to the completion of goals has a target of up to 2.5% of base salary. Employees are also eligible to earn profit sharing.

As a Production Controller your responsibilities will include:
Work Order Management
- Create and maintain work orders in Syspro to meet client commitments.
- Plan equipment, material, and personnel requirements, identify shortages, and maintain production schedules using established priorities.
- Monitor work order execution, escalate scheduling risks, troubleshoot variances, and reconcile and close completed work orders in preparation for shipment.
- Implement Engineering Change Orders and confirm that bills of materials are accurate and correctly loaded in the ERP system.
Production Scheduling and Delivery
- Create and validate production schedules based on monthly client requirements and actual performance against targets.
- Respond to customer schedule and delivery requests, including non-standard situations, by investigating the underlying facts and coordinating practical next steps.
- Support on-time delivery, product transfers, change-control implementation, and approved cost-reduction and improvement actions.
- Coordinate service and warranty items and prepare shipping requests for parts and finished goods.
Finished Goods Inventory
- Manage finished-goods inventory levels in accordance with business requirements and client-specific agreements.
- Apply inventory replenishment and Lean practices to maintain appropriate inventory levels and meet demand.
Quality, Training and Teamwork
- Maintain assigned production metrics and support improvement actions identified by the Production Manager.
- Support internal and external audits and help sustain quality management system processes and procedures.
- Coordinate required training for the production team.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Supply Chain, Planning, Engineering, and Quality.
Our ideal candidate brings:
- At least two years of planning and scheduling experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- A diploma or degree in manufacturing, supply chain, operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ERP/MRP experience; Syspro experience is an asset.
- Working knowledge of ISO 13485 medical-device manufacturing; familiarity with ISO 9001 and IPC standards is an asset.
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to read and interpret electronic and mechanical drawings, BOMs, and technical work instructions.
Desired Skills, Attributes and Abilities:
- Progress toward an APICS/ASCM CPIM designation or another relevant operations or supply-chain credential.
- Sound judgment on defined and moderate-scope problems, with the self-awareness to seek guidance when situations are new or complex.
- Clear, practical communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships across technical and operational teams.
- Experience with Lean inventory practices, product transfer, engineering change control, or finished-goods replenishment.
- Experience working in medical-device manufacturing, another highly regulated environment, or a client-driven high-tech manufacturing setting.
