Job Overview
The Landscape & Exterior Maintenance Helper is responsible for performing landscaping, lawn care, and exterior property maintenance services in a safe, professional, and efficient manner. This role involves hands-on physical work, operation of landscaping equipment, and exterior cleaning services including gutters, siding, and roof surfaces.
The Technician works independently or as part of a small team and is expected to maintain high standards of safety, workmanship, and customer service at all times. Candidates should have a passion for gardening, and outdoor work, with a focus on quality and safety.
Responsibilities
Landscaping & Lawn Care
- Lawn mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing
- Pruning shrubs and small trees
- Garden bed maintenance and weed control
- Seasonal cleanups (spring/fall)
- Minor planting and soil work
- Operation of landscaping equipment and hand tools
Exterior Maintenance Services
- Gutter cleaning (ladder-based and/or ground systems)
- Roof surface cleaning (non-invasive methods)
- Siding washing and exterior surface cleaning
- Debris removal from property exteriors
- Inspection and reporting of visible exterior deficiencies
General Duties
- Load/unload equipment and materials
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
- Follow company safety policies and safe work procedures
- Identify hazards and report incidents promptly
- Provide courteous and professional service to clients
- Maintain cleanliness of job sites
- Cleaning company owned vehicles (inside/outside)
Experience
- Prior experience in landscape maintenance or horticulture is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with excavation equipment, irrigation systems, gardening techniques, and horticultural practices is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge related to power tools and machinery operation is advantageous
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment is desirable
- Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions with attention to safety protocols
Work Conditions
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Physical labour including lifting, bending, climbing, kneeling
- Use of ladders and fall protection equipment where required
- Exposure to dust, noise, and outdoor environmental elements
Required
- Valid Driver’s License (Class 5)
- Clean Driver’s Abstract
