Job Summary: Fitter/Welder
Givens Engineering has an opportunity for an experienced Fitter/Welder to join our growing team. This is not an entry level position.
At Givens Engineering our team designs and fabricates industrial lifting equipment, custom tooling, and automated systems. We are the largest manufacturer of manipulators and light cranes in Canada serving a vast range of industries such as automotive, food processing, plastic and chemical, pharmaceutical, defence, and many more.

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fitter/Welder to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for fitting and welding both large and small weldments. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, works well independently or in a team, and can precisely follow technical instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality welding on various sizes of weldments.
- Fit and assemble components according to project specifications.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and competently.
- Utilize overhead cranes for hoisting, rigging, and moving heavy materials.
- Collaborate with the team and follow both written and verbal directions.
- Maintain strict safety standards, including the consistent use of required PPE.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience fitting and welding large and small weldments.
- Certifications: Current CWB weld certification in GMAW, MCAW, or FCAW is preferred. (Note: We are willing to provide CWB certification training).
- Technical Skills: Strong fitting experience, along with hoisting and rigging experience, is considered a major asset.
- Core Competencies: Ability to work independently, strong teamwork skills, and excellent attention to safety protocols.
Shop hours are straight days Monday to Friday 7-3:30pm with the probability of frequent weekend work or OT work.

Pay: $26.00-$36.00 per hour
