Imperial Skills Academy (ISA) is a leading skilled trades training institution dedicated to preparing students for successful careers in Canada's construction industry. We deliver practical, hands-on training led by experienced industry professionals.
We are currently seeking an experienced Plumbing Instructor to teach our evening practical plumbing program in Burnaby.
Responsibilities
- Deliver hands-on plumbing instruction in a workshop environment.
- Teach residential plumbing installation, drainage, venting, water supply, and fixture installation.
- Demonstrate proper use of plumbing tools and equipment.
- Ensure a safe learning environment and enforce safety procedures.
- Guide students through practical exercises and real-world scenarios.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Support students in becoming job-ready for the plumbing industry.
Qualifications
- Red Seal Plumber (preferred) or Journeyperson Plumber.
- Minimum 5 years of plumbing experience in residential and/or commercial construction.
- Strong practical knowledge of Canadian plumbing codes and best practices.
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
- Previous teaching or coaching experience is an asset but not required.
- Passion for developing the next generation of skilled trades professionals.
Schedule
- Evening classes
- Approximately 2–3 evenings per week
- Burnaby, British Columbia
