Structured Cable Technician

Position:
COMsolve is looking for Structured Cable Technicians experienced in the installation of structured cabling systems as per customer specifications. Our industry-leading training course will provide all the knowledge and tools you’ll need to work on a crew installing and maintaining wireless cellular networks across Canada.
Requirements:
· Building telecom room/closets (backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fibre optics and hardware connections)
· Perform labelling, necessary tests, reporting after installation, and corrections as needed
· Experience in installing data and voice cabling (CAT 5E, CAT6, CAT 6a) highly preferable
· Experience in installing fibre optics, terminations, and splicing is an asset
· Computer skills including application of software updates
· Interact with customers and prospects, ensuring all inquiries and communications are handled professionally. Consistently provide high levels of customer service and maintain customer relationships
· Ensures that all company equipment is well maintained and in safe operating condition
· Must be able to get clear security clearance requirements for agencies
· Meets or exceeds Canadian Health and Safety standards
· Primarily work in GTA, Ontario, Alberta, and BC
· Available for On Call work
· Available to travel as required, for multiple nights
· Available to travel within Canada and USA
· Available for U.S travel for training purposes
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Prior cabling or installation experience
· Knowledge of communication cabling, fibre optics, and telecommunications products is highly preferred
· Able to test, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve cabling issues
· Able to read & interpret blueprints and construction drawings
· Belden Panduit certification is an asset
· BICSI or RCDD certification is an asset
· Conduit bending and installation experience is an asset
· Working at heights or fall arrest certification is an asset
· Must be eligible to work in Canada
· Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record
· Strong verbal and written skills in English
· French language an asset
· Able to communicate effectively and calmly handle emergencies and routine situations should the need arise
· Ability to organize work and consistently meet deadlines
· Ability to work independently or in a team
· Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs
· Must be able to pass background checks from RCMP and all emergency services
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $20.00-$34.00 per hour
