RoadSafetyBC is the lead provincial agency for road safety and is responsible for setting strategic direction and establishing a provincial approach to road safety throughout British Columbia. RoadSafetyBC regulates drivers and operates a number of programs to help regulate the safe and responsible operation of motor vehicles in B.C.

As a senior financial professional you manage a multi-million dollar budget; direct research on financial modelling, analysis and impacts of policy options on program costs and revenues; oversee large procurements and contracts and work closely with Corporate Services Branch to provide reporting and financial controls for the RoadSafetyBC. This position works in a dynamic, fast changing and increasingly complex environment, where ensuring sound road safety programs and licensing decisions are paramount. Reporting to the Director of Resource Planning and Business Operations and in alignment with Corporate Management Services Branch, you work closely with staff, road safety partners, stakeholder groups and 3rd party service providers including ICBC, BC Association of the Chiefs of Police, RCMP and municipal police, Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Police Services Division, community safety groups, and the Ministries of Attorney General and Public Safety and Solicitor General Information Systems Branch.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

Professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA) OR university degree in Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, Commerce OR related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of experience in a senior leadership role in areas of budgeting, project and contract management, financial analysis, or financial reporting/auditing.
Demonstrated experience analyzing financial and business issues and preparing associated high-level briefings, documents and presentations for decision by senior government officials.
Demonstrated experience developing policy and/or business processes, negotiating and managing budgets, contracts and procurement activities, preferably this experience was gained through information technology projects.
Recent, (within last 5 years) relevant experience (minimum 3 years) supervising, leading, and coaching, a work unit including the assignment of work, development and evaluation of performance plans (My Performance) and approval of leave.
Demonstrated experience managing staff and project teams across multiple priorities to produce results.

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
Experience facilitating/managing partnerships with government agencies, IT organizations, 3rd party service providers, and external regulatory – enforcement stakeholders.
Experience with contract management and procurement
